Planning preview: LinkedIn publishes the 1584 × 396 file spec, but not exact profile-photo or mobile crop coordinates. The guide marks are deliberately labeled as estimates, not platform guarantees.
What will happen to this file?
Keep important text clear of the planning overlays, then export the clean banner without guides.
How to Use Motricialy LinkedIn Banner Size Checker
Choose and upload
Select Personal profile or Company Page, then drop, choose, or paste the banner image you want to prepare.
Frame and diagnose
Use Fill & crop or Fit all, then drag or zoom while checking upscale risk, crop loss, and the planning previews.
Export the clean banner
Download the exact LinkedIn canvas as JPG or PNG. Planning guides are never baked into the exported image.
Key Features
Two current LinkedIn presets
Prepare a 1584 × 396 personal background photo or a 1512 × 256 Company Page cover without manual sizing.
Overlap-aware planning
See an estimated profile-photo obstruction on personal banners without presenting the overlay as an official safe zone.
Real crop bounds
Drag, zoom, and reposition only where the image actually overflows; locked directions cannot expose empty space.
Desktop + narrow previews
Compare the full strip with a centered narrow-screen planning crop to catch edge-positioned text and logos.
Quality + crop diagnostics
See the current upscale factor and what percentage of the source sits outside the selected banner frame.
Private exact-size export
Generate a clean JPG or PNG locally at the selected LinkedIn dimensions, with file-size checks before download.
Personal profiles and Company Pages use different banner shapes
For a personal profile, LinkedIn currently recommends a 1584 × 396 px JPG or PNG smaller than 8 MB. For a LinkedIn Page cover, its help guidance lists 1512 × 256 px with a 3 MB maximum.
The platform can display cover images differently across screens. That is why this checker keeps official size/file rules separate from profile-photo and responsive-crop planning estimates.
LinkedIn Banner Size FAQ
What is the correct LinkedIn banner size for a personal profile?
LinkedIn's current help guidance recommends 1584 pixels wide by 396 pixels high for a profile cover image, using JPG or PNG and a file smaller than 8 MB.
Is a LinkedIn Company Page banner the same size?
No. LinkedIn's current Page image specification lists the Page cover at 1512 × 256 pixels, with PNG/JPEG files up to 3 MB.
Why can a correctly sized banner still look cropped?
LinkedIn notes that appearance can change with browser-window size and screen resolution. Interface elements can also cover parts of a banner, so exact dimensions do not guarantee identical framing everywhere.
Are the profile-photo and narrow-screen overlays official safe zones?
No. LinkedIn publishes the file dimensions but not exact pixel coordinates for every overlap or responsive crop. These overlays are deliberately labeled as planning estimates.
What does the upscale warning mean?
If the source must be enlarged to fill the selected canvas, the checker shows the approximate scale factor. A technically correct export can still look soft when the original image is too small.
Does Motricialy upload my banner image?
No image-processing upload is required. Decoding, positioning, previewing, file-size estimation, and JPG/PNG export happen in your current browser tab.
