X-documented: up to 60 px may crop at top and bottomPlanning estimate: avatar overlap varies by layout

Important: X publishes the 1500 × 500 recommendation and says 60 px on the top and bottom could be cropped on different monitors/browsers. The avatar circle is only a planning estimate because X does not publish stable overlap coordinates.

HOW IT WORKS

How to Use Motricialy X (Twitter) Header Size Checker

1

Upload your header

Drop, choose, or paste the image you want to use. The checker reads it locally in your browser.

2

Frame and diagnose

Use Fill & crop or Fit all, then drag or zoom while checking crop-risk bands, upscale risk, and crop loss.

3

Export the clean file

Download a 1500 × 500 JPG or PNG. Planning guides are never baked into the exported header.

FEATURES

Key Features

Exact 1500 × 500 target

Prepare the current X/Twitter header shape without manually calculating the 3:1 canvas.

Documented crop-risk bands

See the top and bottom 60px areas X says could be cropped on different monitors and browsers.

Real crop bounds

Drag, zoom, and reposition only where the image actually overflows; locked directions cannot expose empty space.

Conservative center-band view

Review the middle 1500 × 380 area derived from X's crop warning without calling it an official safe zone.

Quality + crop diagnostics

Catch heavy upscaling and see what percentage of the source sits outside the current frame.

Private browser export

Generate a clean JPG or PNG locally without sending the selected image to an image-processing server.

CROP GUIDANCE

1500 × 500 is recommended, but the edges can still crop

X currently recommends a 1500 × 500 px header image. Its upload-help guidance also warns that a recommended-size header can display differently across monitors and browsers, and that 60 pixels at the top and bottom could be cropped.

This checker therefore treats dimensions and crop risk as separate checks. The center-band preview is conservative planning guidance, not a guarantee about every X layout.

QUESTIONS

X (Twitter) Header Size FAQ

What is the current X / Twitter header size?

X currently recommends 1500 pixels wide by 500 pixels high for a profile header image, which is a 3:1 aspect ratio.

Why can a 1500 × 500 header still look cropped?

X says header images can display differently across monitor sizes and browsers. Its help guidance specifically notes that 60 pixels on the top and bottom could be cropped.

Is the middle 1500 × 380 area an official X safe zone?

No. It is a conservative planning band derived from X's “up to 60 px top and bottom” warning, not an official guaranteed safe zone.

Is the avatar overlap circle official?

No. X does not publish one stable header-overlap position for every layout, so the circle is deliberately labeled as a planning estimate.

What does the upscale warning mean?

If the source must be enlarged to fill the 1500 × 500 canvas, the checker shows the approximate scale factor. A correct-size export can still look soft when the source is too small.

Does the tool enforce a 2 MB or 5 MB header limit?

No. The current product contract does not treat conflicting third-party header file-size limits as an official X rule.

Does Motricialy upload my header image?

No image-processing upload is required. Decoding, positioning, previewing, and JPG/PNG export happen in your current browser tab.
